This game prototype (never published)
was developed by myself back in 1989-1990.
It features fast smooth (50hz) parallax
scrolling, and lots of sprites and action on 
the screen. I never approached a publisher
with this, and didn't feel it was good 
enough for publication. I'm sure it could
have made a great game though, with a little 
tweaking and a proper artist on the job.

Basic Instructions
------------------

Move about and press fire to shoot
crystals, turrets and aliens.
Shield goes down if you get
hit by aliens on bullets.
Energy goes down over time,
shoot crystals (on floor) to restore energy.
Shoot a full wave of aliens (8) and
then collect a bonus item left behind.

Speed            =
Go faster (if you find the pace too slow)

Acceleration     =
Accelerate faster (if you have fast reactions)

Super Flip       =
Flip over faster (to go left or right)

Transform        =
Keep hold of fire to turn in to a tank
 (or back to a ship)

Smart Bomb       = 
Press space to blast the aliens

Force Field      = 
Allows you to hit something solid and survive

Laser Damage     = 
Destroy the crytals sooner

Rear Laser       = 
Shoot backwards

Side Lasers      = 
Shoot to the side

Fast Lasers      = 
Shoot more rapidly

Shield Gen       = 
Shield restors over time

Extra Ship       = 
Extra ship

Exit             = 
Continue game
