        The solution to KING's QUEST IV - the perils of Rosella

             Solved and typed in by yours: UNCLE KALLE !

 First let me say, that this is probably the shortest route. You don't see
  all pictures of the game. So try some different directions to see what 
                            will happen !


              We start on a beach in the land of Tamir.

E - N - E - look under bridge - get gold ball - E - open door - clean house
(enjoy watching) - get pouch of diamonds - leave house - s - enter mine -
E - give pouch - W - leave mine - E - look at this location for a bird which
is picking up a worm (if there isn't any worm go to another location to find
a worm) - get worm - E - E - Wait for henchmen - (look what's going up inside
the castle) - N - N - W - open door - W - look at books inside the right
shelf - get book - look picture - walk to left wall - look wall - walk to 
left shelf - pull latch - W - get shovel - E - E - S - W - W - walk to right
side of pond - drop gold ball - catch frog - kiss frog - get gold ball - W -
W - N - W - (wait until the fisherman is gone) - E - open door - offer pouch
to fisherman - leave house - W - walk to end of pier - bait hook with worm -
fishing (repeat this until you will catch a fish) - E - E - E - N - (wait
until Cupid arrives) - get bow - W - S - (walk here until fellow arrives) -
give book to fellow - get lute - N - N - (walk here around until Pan arrives)
- play lute - give lute to pan - W - S - W - (back on the pier; let's have an
inventury-check.) You should have: silver flute, lantern, gold ball, small
crown, bow, shovel, fishing pole, dead fish !) - now enter the water - save
game here !

(there can appear a shark which isn't lovely to You!) - W - W - (on island)
- look here around for a peacock feather - get feather - (you can also go
to Genesta to see how sick she is, but it's not necessary for the game!) - 
- better save game when leaving the island again - E - (if there isn't a 
whale then go back and try again until you will absorb by a whale!) - (inside
whale) - get bottle - open bottle - read note - (nice joke!!!) - (now this
is very strange - so read first and then try it out: You had to tickle the 
whale with your feather but You can do this only from a high location. So
I went to the right side of the screen. Don't try the middle of the screen
to walk up. You'll fall down. The right side works much better. Walk up and
right and up and right. You had to try it out. If you are high enough you 
can tickle the whale and will be back in the sea) - swim north to another
island - walk near pelican - throw fish to pelican - get whistle - walk to
right wreck - look inside wreck - (you'll get the bridle for the unicorn) -
blow whistle - ride dolphin - E - E - N - (walk here around until unicorn
arrives) - shoot bow - walk to head of unicorn - put bridle on unicorn - ride
unicorn - (wait ...) - (back from the castle again) - N - walk near waterfall
- (don't walk in water!) - wear crown - (inside waterfall) - get board - 
light lantern - SAVE GAME !!! - E - (if a troll appears then simply walk back
from cave and try again) - get bones (near the cave entrance) - S - E - E -
SAVE GAME !!! - (there is a chasm in the darkness) - walk near chasm - put
board on chasm - walk over chasm - N - E - (at a pond) - walk to green plants
- (not into the swamp!) - jump - jump - jump - until you reach the island -
(the last plant is too far away to jump over, so simple type:) - put board
on water - walk over board to island - play flute - (until the snake is
mesmerized:) - go tree - get fruit - better save - walk over board again -
get board - jump (until you reach the cave entrance again!) - walk thru hole
- S - walk near chasm - put board on chasm - walk over board - save game ! -
W - (keep Your eye for the troll!) - N - W - W - unlight lantern - go water -
(outside waterfall) - W - S - W - S - (if the ogre or his wife appears then
fast go north and south again until they are gone!) - open door - (a dog runs
to you!) - give bone - go upstairs - get axe - go downstairs - go closed door
- open door - look keyhole - (wait until you hear the ogre coming!) - look
keyhole again - (watch) - open door - walk to hen - get hen - walk to door -
open door - leave house - N - E - E - (go Lolotte's castle again and see what
is going up!) - (back from castle) - N - N - N - use axe - (the trees are no
longer dangerous!) - N - E - (inside cave) - here: walk around pod and walk
in the middle of the two witches standing at the wall - take eye - leave
cave - enter cave again - take scarab - give eye - don't waste time - leave -
S - (it will be night in Tamir) - S - (Zombies will appear - put you have a
scarab, so they go away!) - W - enter house again - (the whole house seems
to be alive!) - You here the cries of a baby !!!!!) - up - go left door -
W - walk to cradle - look inside cradle - (nothing there!) - E - S - down -
S - W - (cemetary) - (Warning! SAVE GAME ! You had to dig five times with the
shovel; if you try it one more then the shovel is broken. You had to know the
correct graves. If you find nothing in a grave after digging, then restore
your saved game. I cannot tell you the grave where you had to dig. You must
read the tombstones and write the writings down on a sheet of paper.) - walk
here to the smallest grave (it's on the left side on the tree in the third
row - try it by reading the tombstone!) - dig - (you'll get a baby rattle!) -
(if not, then this was the wrong grave! RESTORE GAME, remember you can only
dig five times!) - E - enter house - walk to baby cradle - put rattle into 
cradle - (now you here things in the lower floor. The second ghost appears!)
- walk downstairs - look ghost - (you will get information, which You need to
dig!) - leave house again - W - dig (You know where? - come on, try it out) -
get coins - E - enter house - wait until ghost appears - give coins - (you
here something in the upper floor - third ghost!) - up - go right door - look
woman - S - down - S - E - save, then dig! - take locket - W - open door -
up - go right door - give locket to woman - (you here something downstairs!)
- S - down - W - look ghost - (it's Lord xxx) - E - S - W - dig! - get medal
- E - open door - wait until ghost appears - give medal to ghost - (now, a
little boy appears - the fifth and last ghost!) - upstairs - go right door -
(the trap door is open now) - climb ladder - look ghost - climb down ladder -
S - downstairs - S - E - dig! - get horse - W - open door - up - right door -
climb ladder - give horse to ghost - open chest - look inside chest - get
paper sheets - climb down - S - downstairs - W - W - better save - up - up -
sit down organ - play sheet music - get skeleton key - stand up - better save
again - walk down - down - E - E - S - E - unlock door - open door - get rope
- climb down rope - (mummy appears, but don't worry!) - get pandoras box -
climb up rope - W - S - E - (back in the castle, see what happen ...) - (now,
in Edgar's room) - (wait, until Edgar comes) - walk door - get rose - look 
rose - unlock door - open door - better save - walk downstairs - E - walk
to the door near the henchman! Warning, if you come to near to the henchman,
then you will merried to Edgar and all is over!) - (in the kitchen) - walk
to the right cupboard - open cupboard - get possessions - W - walk upper 
doorway east - E - E - better save - up stairs - (don't look in the west
location; the henchmen will catch you!) - up stairs - (Lolotte's room!) -
unlock door with gold key - open door - walk to the right side of Lolotte's
bed - shoot bow - (See, what's going up !) - get talisman - down stairs -
now you can go WEST - open door - get hen - get pandoras box - S - E - better
save - go downstairs - W - S - W - (inside stable) - open gate - (walk near
the gate from the left side looking to the right gatelock) - open gate - S -
down path (use your mouse!) - W - W - W - W - W - N - N - W - better save -
W - W - (island of Genesta again) - go inside Genesta's castle - walk near
bed and finally !!! give talisman to genesta 

                and enjoy the last sequence of the game!

In the last minute:
Here are the missed points: put pandoras box back into the chamber. Drop it
on the floor - leave chamber and lock the door.
The box is now in a save place for ever. 
Then go to Genesta. You will have then 230 of possible 230 points !!!!!!!!!
